The Gulf Coast EP Society will be holding it’s annual meeting at the Roosevelt Hotel in New Orleans on February 24, 2018. We look forward to our guest speakers and case presentations.  CME and MOC points will be available to attendees.  The meeting will be from 8:00 am (breakfast) to 1:00 pm (final remarks).

GCEPS: Seventh Semi-Annual Session April 9, 2016

[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]On April 9,2016, Dr. Eric Prystowsky will be the guest speaker for the seventh semi-annual  session of the Gulf Coast EP Society.  He will be discussing electrophysiologic maneuvers to aid in the diagnosis and ablation of WPW and AVNRT.  For complete details go to our events page.

Dr. Prystowsky is a practicing Cardiologist with St. Vincent Medical Group and Director of the Cardiac Arrhythmia Service, St. Vincent Hospital, Indianapolis. He is also a Consulting Professor of Medicine at Duke University Medical Center.

Dr. Prystowsky is a graduate of Pennsylvania State University and the Mt. Sinai School of Medicine. He completed his internal medicine training at Mt. Sinai Hospital, New York City, and his training in cardiology and clinical electrophysiology at Duke University Medical Center, Durham, North Carolina.

From 1979 to 1986, Dr. Prystowsky was a full-time faculty member at the Indiana University School of Medicine, where he was Director of the Electrophysiology Laboratory. In 1986, he returned to Duke University as Professor of Medicine and Director of the Cardiac Arrhythmia Center. He joined St. Vincent in 1988. In addition to co-authoring two textbooks, Cardiac Arrhythmias: An Integrated Approach for the Clinician; and Clinical Electrophysiology Review, Dr. Prystowsky has also authored over 700 publications concerning cardiac arrhythmias. He is the Editor-in-Chief of The Journal of Cardiovascular Electrophysiology and is also on the editorial board of 16 journals, including Circulation.

Additionally, he is past chairman of the American Heart Association’s Committee on Electrocardiography and Electrophysiology, past president of the Heart Rhythm Society, and past chairman of the Test Writing Committee for Clinical Electrophysiology for the American Board of Internal Medicine. He is the recipient of the Distinguished Alumni Award from Pennsylvania State University (2007), the Distinguished Physician Award from St. Vincent Hospital (2014), and the HRS Distinguished Teacher Award (2002) and President’s Award (2009).[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
